DeJeonge Reese is an interdisciplinary artist and educator from Yeadon, Pennsylvania, whose work explores Black history, ancestry, and identity through material storytelling. Working across textiles, sculpture, installation, performance, and mixed media, she draws from archival research, oral histories, family histories, and lived experience to connect past and present.

Black hair is a central material in Reese's practice, often combined with burlap, fabric, found objects, and handmade structures to explore migration, labor, care, survival, and inherited knowledge. Her work brings personal and collective Black histories together to reclaim authorship over Black narratives. Reese holds degrees from The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania and Moore College of Art and Design and is a 2023 Mural Arts Philadelphia Black Artist Fellow.
