Ashley White

A multidisciplinary artist and designer whose work explores identity, heritage, and storytelling through collage, sculpture, and object-based practices. Rooted in the beauty, strength, and lived experiences of Black women, her work examines how style, adornment, and presentation shape individual and collective identity. Drawing from music, fashion, cultural movements, and material culture, she layers traditional and contemporary aesthetics to explore lineage, memory, resilience, and the evolution of Black creativity.

Working with materials including paper, metal, glass, and clay, White creates sculptural and functional forms that blur the boundaries between art and everyday objects. Her practice is grounded in the belief that objects carry stories and can serve as vessels for cultural memory and connection. She is also the founder of Styledentity, a handmade accessories and object brand that extends her artistic exploration of identity and adornment into wearable design and slow fashion.
